no not really drag racing, just a top speed run event... its unsanctioned so its pretty laid back...
although the whole weekend were drag racing from bar to bar,, it takes place on the bayou in morgan city louisiana.... this was only the fourth MUDBUG ,,, it was my first time, however this will be a yearly trip for sure...

We don't have anything like that here (event or location). However, we do have a 30 mile long, 15 mile wide lake that only has an average depth of about 12 feet and is complete glass in the mornings so I've been able to get some great gps runs in.
Grats on the run, I've wanted a GP1300R for a long time. Only ridden one but it was a blast to ride.

well people drive from all over, i came from texas, some guys from the western shore of canada drove down with there new SHO's, there were almost 200 skis there.. you should come next year... my lake is smooth super early, by the time i get up and ready its to choppy for good numbers, thats why all my boats are setup for chop.... i love GPR's, probably why theres 3 at my house, they have the fastest hulls.. in the future im either gonna do a conversion GPRXP if i can find a wrecked rxp or wait till 09 and yammi has a 2-seater SHO...... wanna sell your 04??
i rode my first rxp-x last weekend.... i loved that boat, seats a little skinny and i dont know how stable it would be in the chop but man did i love that motor and the newer wider pump tunnel... that things a holeshot monster...

I sold my 04 last year but it's still in the family. I still work on it and get to see it every weekend, etc. but it belongs to my brother-in-law, sorry.
So you think they'll stop production of the GP1300R next year and put a 1.8L 4-stroke version of the SHO in its place?

ya 08 is the last year for the gpr......
i think they will make the top deck of the current SHO shorter, then call it a 2-seater. just like the rxt/rxp..... it will be a sweet ski, but id like to see them implant the SHO motor in the gpr hull, but ive heard that hull is done forever...... however riva is building a TURBO GPRSHO right now,,, its badass!!
